Dr. Richard McDonald, DDS

Dr. Richard S. McDonald was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated with honors from Simpson College and received his Doctoral Degree of Dental Surgery from the University of Iowa in 1979.

After completion of dental school, Dr. McDonald joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas as a Dental Officer. After fulfilling his 3 year active duty service obligation, Dr. McDonald chose to reside in Fort Worth where he is respected among dental colleagues for his outstanding dental work and patients for his compassionate, gentle care.

Dr. McDonald is trained in all types of general dentistry but elects to place special emphasis on his main passions, cosmetic smile makeovers, laser dentistry and orthodontics. His experience of over 30 years spans the full spectrum of patient needs. Continuing education has kept Dr. McDonald’s practice in the forefront of dental innovation. His commitment to excellence has kept him abreast of advances and new techniques in all phases of dental treatment. His mission is to provide all his patients the best in dental technology, treatment options, and patient comfort. It is his pleasure to address all your questions and concerns and he welcomes the opportunity to earn your trust.

Dr. McDonald has been married to his wife Sheila since 2006. Their family includes his son, Brad, his daughter, Jennifer, two grandchildren, Kyle and Madison, and of course, their dog Jake. Dr. McDonald’s hobbies include tennis, snowboarding, and traveling when he is not spending time with his family and friends. He and his wife are active members of Christ Church in Fort Worth.

Our Team

In the continuous effort to provide the highest quality dental care for our patients a total team commitment is necessary. Our office staff is one of the most dedicated teams I have ever had the privilege of working with. It is with great pride that I present my office team to you.

First, let me introduce the front office staff...

Cassandra and Melinda are the office administrators. Together they work as a team to keep our front office running smoothly. It is their smiling faces that will greet you as you walk in. Their attention to detail is evident in the every day business management of our office. If you ever need to make a change in scheduling or ask a question about your account, feel free to contact them.

Cassandra is our treatment coordinator. Her duties encompass many facets such as educating patients on their upcoming procedures, providing treatment estimates, reviewing insurance coverage, and coordinating the optimal sequence of treatment.

Melinda is our financial coordinator. Her years of expertise in overseeing insurance claims and billing will ensure patients to receive maximum benefit reimbursements. She will represent patients’ desires to help start their treatment with ease.  

Jennifer, Brooke, and Misty will take care of you at chair side. They make it possible for our office to deliver the high quality of care that you deserve. Together they have a combined total of over 20 years of dental experience. Their excellent technical and communication skills bring not only warmth but a welcoming environment for all patients.

Amber is our Orthodontic Assistant. She is responsible for helping all orthodontic patients with their treatment. Her knowledge and gentle caring attitude will make your orthodontic visit a pleasant one.

Our office is also blessed with three exceptionally talented Dental Hygienists that keep you smiling!

Marti, Stacy, and Melissa share a great enthusiasm for their work! They are not only dedicated hygienists, but also committed educators about the prevention of gum disease and the benefits of high quality dental care. All three hygienists will keep your mouth healthy and feeling great!
