Fort Worth Same-Day Crowns
Restore Your Tooth In One Appointment
What Are Same-Day CEREC Crowns?
At Country Day Dental, we use CEREC technology to build same-day crowns in Fort Worth. CEREC uses a special CAD/CAM (Computer-Aided Design/Manufacturing) to build crowns directly in our office in just a few minutes. This means that we can prepare your tooth, build a crown, and place it in just one short, 1-2 hour appointment.
In contrast, traditional lab-made crowns usually require at least two appointments over a period of 2-3 weeks. If you have a busy schedule and need to restore your tooth right away, contact Country Day Dental for a same-day CEREC crown appointment in Fort Worth.
The Benefits Of Same-Day Crowns With CEREC
The biggest benefit of getting a same-day crown is that you can save a lot of time compared to traditional crowns. Since you need just one appointment at Country Day Dental, you can get back to your normal routine without worrying about follow-ups.
Also, CEREC doesn’t require the use of dental putty and trays for impressions, which many patients find uncomfortable. Instead, Dr. Schmidgall will use a touchless, handheld 3D scanner to take a digital scan of your teeth.
Same-day crowns with CEREC also eliminate the need for temporary crowns, which normally must be applied to protect your tooth while your permanent crown is being built at a dental lab. Temporary crowns can be uncomfortable and may even fall off, requiring a visit to your Fort Worth dentist to have the crown replaced. With CEREC, you’ll never have to wear a temporary, and you’ll restore your tooth right away.
What To Expect From The Same-Day Crown Process
- Tooth prep and scans – To begin the same-day crown process, Dr. Schmidgall will clean the treatment area and numb your mouth. Then, he will use a handheld scanner to create a 3D model of your tooth and the surrounding areas, and send it to a computer.
- Crafting your crown – Using a computer program, Dr. Schmidgall will create a crown that will fit onto your tooth, and fine-tune it until it looks perfect. Then, he will send this information to our CEREC machine. In less than 30 minutes, this machine will carve your crown out of a solid block of tooth-colored porcelain.
- Fit check, adjustments, and placement – Once your crown has been finished, Dr. Schmidgall will check its fit, and make any necessary adjustments. When the fit is perfect, he will attach your CEREC same-day crown using powerful dental cement. Then, you’ll be sent home to enjoy your newly-restored tooth. The entire process typically takes 1-2 hours.
