The Benefits of Veneers
- Versatile Treatment – Veneers can be used to treat a wide variety of aesthetic dental issues including yellowed and stained teeth, gaps between your teeth, misshapen teeth, uneven teeth, and teeth with minor chips. They are one of the best choices for patients with multiple cosmetic issues.
- Easy To Maintain – You can treat veneers the same way you would treat “real” teeth. Just brush and floss properly and see Dr. Schmidgall for an appointment at Country Day Dental every six months. That’s it!
- Long Lifespan – Veneers can easily last 10-15 years or longer with proper care, making them one of the most long-lasting cosmetic dentistry treatments. They are also completely stain-resistant, so they will continue to look great for years to come.
- Improved Self-Confidence – This is the biggest benefit of any cosmetic dentistry treatment. With your new smile, you will feel better about how you look, and you’ll be able to eat, speak, chew, and smile with confidence once again.
What Are Veneers?
Veneers are a type of cosmetic dental treatment designed to cover up and treat imperfections in your smile. Each veneer is built to cover up the front chewing surface of one of your teeth, essentially replacing it and covering up any flaws like stains, misshapen teeth, and other such issues with your smile.
It’s important to note, however, that veneers are not a restorative treatment, and are only meant to treat cosmetic issues with your smile. They cannot be used to treat damaged or decayed teeth, and your mouth must be healthy to get veneers at Country Day Dental.
What Can I Expect From My Veneer Treatment?
After your initial appointment with Dr. Schmidgall, the treatment process usually takes two consultations over a period of several weeks. At your first appointment, Dr. Schmidgall will clean your teeth and numb them, then use a dental drill to remove a little bit of enamel from your teeth only in areas needed to make room for the porcelain.
This is done to make sure the veneers do not add any more bulk to your teeth or change your bite, and to expose fresh enamel to ensure the veneers can be attached properly to your teeth with dental adhesive.
Once your teeth have been trimmed, Dr. Schmidgall will take images and impressions of the teeth, which will be sent to our amazing partner dental lab. You will get a set of temporary veneers to protect your teeth while the lab crafts your veneers. This will usually take 2-3 weeks.
When your veneers have been completed and are sent to our office, you will come back for your final appointment, where your veneers will be bonded into place by Dr. Schmidgall. Then, you’ll be sent home to enjoy your new smile.
